Avnet’s Richard Diaz Named Supply & Demand Chain Executive 2021 "Pro to Know"

03/17/2021

This award recognizes outstanding executives whose accomplishments leverage supply chains for competitive advantage

PHOENIX – March 17, 2021 –Richard Diaz, Vice President, Supply Chain & Operations at leading global technology solutions provider Avnet (Nasdaq: AVT) has been named one of Supply and Demand Chain Executive’s 2021 Pros to Know. Diaz is the sixteenth Avnet leader to be recognized in this annual showcase of supply chain talent, highlighting the company’s industry-leading expertise in global supply chain execution and innovation.

The “Pro to Know” award honors outstanding executives whose accomplishments offer a roadmap for other leaders looking to leverage supply chain as a competitive advantage. This year’s list includes individuals and teams from software and service providers, consultancies and academia, trucking and transportation firms, professional development agencies, sourcing and procurement divisions, and more, all who have helped supply chain clients and the supply chain community at large prepare to meet many of today’s—and tomorrow’s—challenges.

Diaz, a 25-year veteran of the semiconductor industry with leadership experience in business development, marketing and operations, joined Avnet in June 2020 as Vice President, Supply Chain and Operations. In this role Diaz is responsible for the development and execution of strategies that enable Avnet to most efficiently and effectively fulfill customers’ semiconductor and IP&E component needs from design through production.

“Richard has brought greater awareness of the supplier perspective to Avnet’s operational strategy, which has helped to lift our supplier engagements up to an even higher level of trust and cooperation. This has been invaluable to Avnet and our supply chain partners as we collaborate to overcome the many disruptions caused by the COVID-19 crisis,” said David Paulson, global vice president, Avnet United and Avnet Velocity. “In addition, Richard has been instrumental in accelerating the build out of Avnet’s portfolio of process automation tools and digital capabilities. These have been so critical to providing Avnet and our supply chain stakeholders with the visibility and agility needed to mitigate risk and build greater supply chain resilience.”

“While many companies have struggled to re-gain their footing as a result of COVID-19, this year’s Pros to Know winners stepped up to the plate to deliver innovative solutions and programs in a time of crisis and need. These winners collaborated, optimized, developed, educated and played a critical role in the survival and success of their company amid a global pandemic,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. “I am honored to recognize these individuals and teams, and extend my utmost gratitude to everyone in the supply chain industry for their time, efforts and innovations to keep our nation’s supply chains afloat.”
