Avnet,
Inc. (NYSE: AVT),
a leading global technology distributor, announced today that it has
expanded its distribution agreement with Red
Hat, Inc., the world's leading open source provider, to include
Brazil. Avnet began distributing Red Hat in 2007, and has helped the
company expand its market presence in Australia, Austria, Belgium,
Germany, Hungary, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain,
Switzerland, and the U.K.
Under the expanded agreement, Avnet will now distribute the full range
of Red Hat solutions in Brazil, including operating system platforms,
virtualization, middleware, storage and cloud solutions – such as
OpenStack and OpenShift. Avnet partners will be able to offer their
customers a long-term plan for building infrastructures based on open
source technologies, with a focus on security, ease of management and a
lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through a subscription-based model.

Red Hat is expanding its channel program in Brazil. As a result, Avnet’s
business partners will be invited to participate in Red Hat’s channel
program. To support this, Avnet will be offering a training platform and
access to OPEN certification (Red
Hat Online Partner Enablement Network), which helps partners gain a
deeper understanding of how they can innovatively solve their customers’
business challenges with Red Hat technologies.
