Avnet’s partners in the U.S. and Canada will benefit from this new enablement approach that delivers mobility service right to their customers
Avnet,
Inc. (NYSE: AVT),
a leading global technology distributor, today introduced its offering
of the VCE®
VxRail™ Appliance Microsoft®
Enterprise Mobility Suite™ Mobility Solutions Framework,
a new solution for the mid-market that links private cloud, public cloud
and mobile device functionality. This enables Avnet’s EMC®
partners in the U.S. to demonstrate a viable IT platform that
organizations can adopt as a foundation for their own mobility service
delivery programs. What began as a vision for a hybrid-first,
mobility-first, client-relevant design concept developed into an
opportunity for Avnet’s team to collaborate on an “end-to-end” solution
that spanned data center service delivery and an integration with Microsoft
Azure® cloud services.
“Mid-market data center teams are confronted with an ever-increasing
demand for new applications, new services and new ways of doing
business,” said Eric Barnhart, vice president of Avnet’s EMC solutions
business unit in the Americas. “Since each mid-market organization has
its own view of how and where mobile applications would best enable and
extend their business goals, Avnet worked with EMC and our partner base
to develop a mid-market mobility framework based on standards and best
practices gleaned from our combined years of experience. This mobility
solutions framework enables our partners to discuss a client’s business
goals and requirements in the context of a Mobility Solutions Catalog
and help deliver real solutions.”
This new mobility solution is all about the end user and how Avnet
partners can develop and suggest solutions that reduce both risk and
cost, and address critical governance issues – particularly for any
regulated industry/vertical market, such as healthcare and government.
The VCE VxRail Appliances are jointly engineered, hyper-converged
infrastructure appliances by EMC and VMware that tightly integrate
virtualization, compute, storage and data protection in one system, with
a single point of support, providing a predictable “pay-as-you-grow”
approach. The Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite solutions framework
from Avnet seamlessly ties together hardware, software and services.
Partners can also leverage the power and versatility of the Avnet
Cloud Marketplace, the one-stop shop that offers access to
comprehensive solutions from leading cloud service providers, flexible
payment models and Avnet’s sophisticated management and optimization
tools.
“Organizations of all sizes are turning to solutions built on top of
hyper-converged infrastructure appliances to increase agility, simplify
operations and lower risk in their data centers. The versatility and
superior feature function of the VxRail Appliances combined with a low
entry price are enabling our partner ecosystem to innovate and add more
value to their customers,” said Gil Shneorson, vice president and
general manager, VxRail, VCE, Converged Platform Division of EMC
Corporation. “The new solution framework for mobility from Avnet
provides resellers with an opportunity to address the large Microsoft
mobile market enabled by the adoption of Microsoft Windows 10.”
Avnet is an award-winning EMC distributor and supports EMC in Asia
Pacific; Europe; Latin America and the Caribbean; and the U.S., plus
2015 marked the 15th anniversary of the Avnet and EMC
partnership. Throughout this long-standing relationship, Avnet has
helped EMC bring innovative solutions to market. For example, Avnet has
enabled EMC partners to adopt their choice of converged and
hyper-converged solutions, which allow partners to design and deploy new
solutions that offer their SMB, mid-market and enterprise customers the
cloud and data center benefits of hyper-converged infrastructure at the
price points and sizes that align with their needs.
