Avnet’s MiniZed SpeedWay Design Workshop Videos Now Available On Demand

01/31/2018

Training gives engineers head start in mastering design flows using Xilinx’s Vivado Design Suite

Avnet (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that video presentations of the four-part MiniZed SpeedWay Design Workshopsinteractive series, launched in the fourth quarter of 2017, are now also available online for free, on-demand viewing at ZedBoard.org.

The MiniZed SpeedWay Design Workshops are designed to help engineers jump start the development of single-core Xilinx® Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC devices using the Avnet MiniZed Zynq SoC development kit, a cost-optimized prototyping platform for embedded vision and Industrial IoT systems. The workshops teach developers the basics of both hardware and software integration using the MiniZed platform, as well as the latest design flows from Xilinx’s Vivado® Design Suite. The training also provides participants with techniques to integrate the HTU21D peripheral module from TE Connectivity (TE), a global leader in connectivity and sensor solutions.

Avnet will continue to offer the live MiniZed SpeedWay Design Workshops in select locations throughout North America, Europe and Asia during the first half of 2018. For those customers who cannot attend the live events, or those who are interested in refresher course, available on-demand resources will include two introductory courses: Developing Zynq Hardware and Developing Zynq Software, as well as two advanced course offerings for more experienced designers: Integrating Sensors on MiniZed with PetaLinux and A Practical Guide to Getting Started with Xilinx SDSoC .

Avnet’s MiniZed Zynq SoC development kit showcases the power of the single-core Xilinx® Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC devices, which feature a single-core ARM® Cortex-A9 processor paired with 28nm Artix®-7 based programmable logic. MiniZed features on-board connectivity through USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and a design compact enough to fit into a shirt pocket. Peripherals can be plugged into dual Pmod-compatible connectors, the Arduino-compatible shield interface or the USB 2.0 host interface.

For more information on the individual videos or to register for live events, visit Avnet’s SpeedWay training and events page or the ZedBoard.org training site. To follow along with the lab segments, viewers will need a MiniZed Development Board and TE HTU21D Temperature and Humidity Sensor Evaluation Kit. Visit the www.minized.org site for MiniZed development kit tutorials and to join the MiniZed community where users can collaborate with other engineers also working on Zynq designs.
