PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 2004--To help customers and suppliers address the component information challenges in complying with the substance restrictions, Avnet Electronics Marketing has developed a useful and timely webinar. The first of a three-part series intended to provide information, the webinar features a panel of experts discussing the component supply chain implications of coming deadlines for compliance with hazardous substances legislation.

Panelists include Pamela J. Gordon, president of Technology Forecasters Inc. and author of the book, "Lean and Green, Profit for Your Workplace and the Environment," who discusses the TFI and Avnet co-sponsored study, "Meaningful Standards for Part Numbering in Light of Substance Restriction Requirements"; and Georg Steinberger, vice president of communications for Avnet EM in Europe, who offers a summary of the legislation and an analysis of the impact on the supply chain. The webinar is introduced and moderated by Avnet Supply Chain Services Senior Vice President Greg Frazier.
