Phoenix – Extending its commitment to the metro Phoenix area, Avnet, a leading global technology distributor, purchased a new headquarters building in Tempe, Ariz.
The company’s new headquarters will be at Arizona State University Research Park near Loop 101 and Warner Road in Tempe, currently carrying an address of 2155 E GoDaddy Way. The real estate transaction closed on June 6 and the company expects to move into the building in mid-2026.
“Purchasing the building is an investment in the Phoenix metro area and its flourishing technology industry,” said Phil Gallagher, Avnet CEO. “Arizona’s welcoming business climate was a major factor in our decision to move our headquarters to Phoenix 28 years ago, and we will continue fostering growth in the coming years.”
Avnet is committed to associations and partnerships that support business growth throughout the valley. From its involvement with the Arizona Technology Council and Arizona Commerce Authority to its partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Avnet is a pillar of the Phoenix community. Avnet’s presence in the Phoenix area dates back to 1979, but the company fully transitioned the logistics operations for its Americas business to its distribution center in Chandler in 1999. The company also has an integration facility in Chandler, Ariz. Today the company employs more than 1,200 people between its three facilities in metro Phoenix.
“Having our headquarters and logistics operations in the Phoenix metro area enables us to better support our business partners, thanks to the area’s strong employment base, excellent universities and secondary educational institutions, stable business environment and strong transportation infrastructure that enables us to ship products consistently,” Gallagher said.
