Avnet employees were spreading holiday joy to those in need this season. Across the U.S. and into Europe, local teams volunteered and donated to make this season a little brighter in their communities.
Some of the locations and activities included:
Boston, MA (U.S.) – Employees there partnered with Molex for a Toys for Tots drive and also participated in the Women in Electronics holiday event that benefits Rosie’s Place, a local women’s shelter.
Cedar Rapids, IA (U.S.) – Volunteers continued their tradition of serving time as bell ringers for the Salvation Army.
Cherry Hill, NJ (U.S.) – The office adopted two families to support through the Fellowship Community Church.
Chicago, IL (U.S.) – The local branch has a long-standing tradition of hosting an Angel Tree through the Salvation Army, this year they collected over 50 gifts.
Dallas, TX (U.S.) – They adopted 33 kids through Hugs with Love, an organization that supports low-income, single-parent households.
Indianapolis, IN (U.S.) – Their group partnered with ST Micro for “Cheers with Engineers” – a product training event, which included a toy drive.
Leeds, U.K. - Employees collected games, books and toys for Armley Action Team, which the charity will use in their re-use shop, which helps to make Christmas a little more affordable.
Maidenhead, U.K. – The team there collected food donations for the charity Foodshare Maidenhead, who provide essential food provisions to those in need of support.
Munich, Germany – The team granted Christmas wishes from the kids at Clemens Maria Children’s Home.
North Reading, MA (U.S.) – Their team held a coat drive for the local Boys and Girls Club.
Phoenix, AZ (U.S.) – The team adopted 50 youth from foster care to provide gifts for the holidays. The team also completed a toy drive for Banner Children’s Hospitals, collecting over 80 toys.
San Jose, CA (U.S.) – The team hosted a supplier appreciation breakfast and toy drive, benefitting Cops Curing Cancer Foundation.
Stevenage, U.K. - Teams continued with their annual tradition of collecting food donations (as well as some warm winter clothes) for Haven First, a charity providing shelter and support for those without a home.
