Winners from Hackster’s* Techfashion Design Challenge were given the opportunity to launch their ventures through Kickstart campaigns in addition to other prizes and benefits.
The first of these campaigns will launch on April 4 featuring Kathrine Connell x Art by Physicist - Shine from Within: Wearable LED Tattoos That Bring Your Unique Story to Light.
The Techfashion Design Challenge is dedicated to empowering independent fashion entrepreneurs and visionary product designers to bring their innovative concepts to fruition while providing invaluable support for manufacturing and commercialization endeavors.
Contest participants were invited to conceive and craft a wearable concept prototype, documenting their creative journey as a Hackster project as contest entry. Winners received a $10,000 value package of technical and go-to-market consulting and development services on productization, manufacturing, and campaign marketing production from Art by Physicist - a sustainable fashion brand founded by Dr. Kitty Yeung, a pioneer creative technologist incorporating electronics and fashion.
The decision to launch and promote these pioneering ventures through Kickstarter campaigns embodies a bold "made-to-order" business model, designed to mitigate risks and foster early-stage success.
