Avnet Cares Awards Nine Grants Across Four States

Avnet Cares awarded its latest round of community grants last month, with nine grants being awarded across four states. Avnet reviews grants on a quarterly basis and accepts grants that focus on one of four areas: STEM, DEI, Environment and Communities in Crisis. Grants awarded in the last round include:

 

Arizona Interscholastic Association: Funding will support the 2024 AIA Robotics State Championship, a two-day event with 75 teams competing.

 

Best Buddies AZ: Support for their jobs program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, one of which has been matched with employment at Avnet.

 

ICAN: Positive Programs for Youth: Funds will support their free afterschool STEM programs for youth from under-resourced communities in Chandler and Mesa, AZ.

 

Junior Achievement of Arizona: Support for the JA STEM Summit that impacts over 500 middle school youth from Title 1 schools.

 

SARSEF: Funding will support the direct service delivery of all outreach STEM programs for PreK-8 students and teachers, reaching 20,000 individuals annually throughout AZ.

 

Tech Sassy Girlz: Supporting STEM programs for girls grades 6-12 in Orlando, FL.

 

JerseySTEM: Funds will support their “My STEM Club” program, helping to bridge gender and socioeconomic gaps by providing innovative, hands-on STEM education to underserved girls in historically underrepresented communities throughout New Jersey.

 

Kids in Tech: Support for their After School Tech Clubs, which provide STEM-focused after-school programming for children from ages 8 to 14 in the Boston area.

 

Science Club for Girls: Funds will support STEM programs for girls grades K-12 from under-resourced communities in the Boston area.
