The Arizona Technology Council, in conjunction with the Arizona Commerce Authority, recently honored Phil Gallagher with the AccountabillT Lifetime Achievement Award at the Governor’s Celebration of Innovation (GCOI) Awards held on Oct. 13, 2021. This award, sponsored by AccountabillT, an IT solutions and services company, honors an individual or individuals who have greatly impacted the technology industry in the State of Arizona. Finalists were announced in August and then voted on by the tech community. Gallagher received the most votes and was awarded this honor at the event.
Gallagher dedicated the award to the Avnet team in Arizona and all 14.5K employees around the world.
“We would not be in business without our people,” he said.
This was an especially poignant time to receive the award as Avnet celebrates its 100th Anniversary. Gallagher has been in the global electronics industry for 39 years, including 26 years in Phoenix.
For information on all the award winners that evening see the AZ Tech Council’s press release.
“This year’s GCOI Awards demonstrate the resilience and ingenuity of Arizona’s technology community,” said Steven G. Zylstra, president and CEO of the Council. “Despite the challenges we faced, leaders have stepped up to continue delivering critical technology across sectors. It was an honor to recognize the organizations and individuals who contributed incredible innovation throughout the year, as well as celebrate our state’s legislators, educators and future leaders during tonight’s event.”
“Each year we are more impressed with the innovators making a difference in Arizona, and this year is no exception,” said Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “The 2021 awardees showcase Arizona’s leadership in fields as diverse as technology, manufacturing, health care, sustainability, mobility, policy and more. We are proud to partner with the Arizona Technology Council to celebrate all those advancing Arizona’s innovation economy and their accomplishments.”
