Google, Hackster and NXP are inviting designers around the world to test drive Google’s Android Things technology for the creation of professional, mass-market embedded systems for Smart Home, Robotics, Smart City, Industrial IoT / Manufacturing, Retail and Entertainment market segments.
The contest challenges participants to demonstrate the most creative use of Android Things and Google technology. Winners will receive cash prizes, access to Dragon Innovations’ Dragon Certified and Product Planner tools, as well as a personal crowdfunding coaching session with a lead from Kickstarter to support the prototype and final product build.
The contest is being run in collaboration with Avnet’s new Hardware Studio, created in partnership with Kickstarter. Hardware Studio prepares developers of complex projects with advice, feedback and services.
All Android Things Design Contest ideas must be submitted no later than Sep 29, 2017 (11:59 am PT); final projects must be submitted by Oct 31, 2017 (11:59 pm PT); and winners will be announced on Nov 10, 2017 at 10:00 pm PT.
