Avnet’s MaryAnn Miller Joins Mayer, Rometty and Sandberg as Tech Industry’s “Most Powerful” Women

Avnet Chief HR Officer MaryAnn Miller was one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology celebrated by the California Diversity Council at a gala dinner in Santa Clara, Calif. earlier this month. Tech industry luminaries Marissa Mayer, CEO, Yahoo!; Virginia Rometty, Chairman and CEO, IBM and Sheryl Sandberg, COO, Facebook were also among this year’s honorees.

Miller, a senior vice president, head of Avnet’s global marketing and communications group and member of the Avnet Executive Board, was recognized this year for her leadership in building an engaged community of 15,000 employees worldwide to navigate significant organizational and cultural, change around Avnet’s transformation and growth strategy, her mentorship to other women leaders and her commitment to corporate citizenship.

Miller was also named one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology in 2013 and 2015. Since 2016, Miller has served as an executive sponsor of the Avnet Innovation Lab, a partnership with ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering established to support entrepreneurs as they develop and scale their innovations.
