OMRON Electronic Components LLC (OCB-AM), the Americas subsidiary of the $7B global Omron Corp., presented Avnet Area Product Director Paul Aspiras with the company’s 2016 award for "Largest Sales Growth" in the Americas at the EDS show in Las Vegas last month.

Founded in 1933, Omron is one of the technology industry’s most enduring players. The company’s extensive product portfolio of relays, switches, connectors, MEMS flow sensors, pressure sensors and optical components are used in a diverse range of applications, including communications, transportation, medical, HVAC, appliance, industrial automation, consumer electronics, test and measurement and gaming.

With the 2016 opening of the Omron Creative Lab, in San Jose, CA, Omron demonstrated its intent to “move from a product-oriented business to a service-oriented business” with a vision to become a “provider of innovative technology solutions committed to enhancing the quality of life,” according to Jeff Rogers, president and chief operating officer of OCB-AM. Avnet is supporting this transformation by providing a growing base of customers with quick and efficient access to parts, as well as industry-leading technical support.
