Avnet’s Harris to Lead ECIA’s Trade Compliance SME Group

High-tech trade association ECIA has chosen Avnet’s Alison Harris to lead its International Trade Compliance subject matter expert group (SMEG). The group, which also includes leaders from Digi-key, TTI, Future, TE Connectivity, C&K, Littelfuse and Vishay, will address global trade compliance issues facing stakeholders within the authorized electronic component channel and work together to develop practice guidance effectively managing these regulatory challenges.

Among the policies and programs the group will consider are: ITAR, EAR, NAFTA, CTPAT, Customs and Border Protection and Census regulations. 

Harris, director of international trade compliance for Avnet, is responsible for the development and management of the export, import, and international trade functions for the company. She is a Code of Conduct Advisor for Avnet, and an active member in Society of International Affairs, International Compliance Professionals Associate and Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
